    Wheel painting

I'm looking to get my wheels painted ideally both sets depending on the cost.

If prefer paint to powdercoat, I'm not looking for a show grade job just presentable.

Can anyone recommend a person or shop?

The plan is to do it straight after the St George race in November. Not prepared to try my luck at getting it done before then.

powdercoating is cheaper and more durable.

Really? I thought it was more expensive and prone to chipping?

Well if you going to go with solid colours I would powder coat it. Going with a metallic finish then paint it with a proper 2pac and clear.

Powercoating is thicker however compared to painting it. All in the prep work of the painter or powdercoater though.

I got quoted through work painting set of wheels cost $150 per wheel.

Powdercoaters quoted me $100 to sandblast and coat them per wheel.

Interesting, with power coating you have to pull the bearings out is that right?

Yep bearings out.Due to the heat they put into them to coat them. The main problem with powder coated stuff is touching it up when it gets chips or damaged.

$100 for sand blasting and powder coating seems pretty reasonable.

Could car wheels be done the same way? I've got an Aston Martin Vantage that I want to sell but I need to fix the scrape marks on the wheels & paint them so they're presentable.

    Thanks in advance.

I want a bike trailer like that! When I'm towing a trailer the thought of a 3 point turn gives me major anxiety 😁

Oh... I am, hence why her car drops her off and then goes to find a parking spot. My gf drives like a gramma, it drives me nuts... can't stand being a passenger when a person insists on staying on the slow moving lane. Some sort of OCD I'm sure.
