You should see the modifications these things get. If it was a car from the world time attack series it'll be a full tubular space frame, massive aero features and 1000hp ish motor. Probably still all wheel drive but super light. The engineering behind those things is mental.

Love the rear have a front sitting there ready to go on what kind of pressures are you running on them and are they a step up from the Metzlers ? Thanks

V02 front is amazeballs, same as v01 rear. the Bridgestone's have a stiffer sidewall than the Metzler so probably soften off your front settings. Can get them to wear sooooooooo nicely all the way down past the wear markers and they don't really drop off the grip that much.

Looking great, Mark! Didn't know you did your helmets too.
How much prep is involved with that? They still get okayed at Scrutineering?

It must be that time of year for diy bodywork repairs.

That yellow looks great Mark, top job.

Thought after three offs, 3m wrap, it was time for some "arts and crafts" fibreglass, filler & good old paint. Sorry about the quality of the pics, was late last night in my shed, but you get the idea.

  27. #1377
Now that looks TOPS, Lee!! Nice! And just quietly, it looks muuuuuuuch better than the wrap

Thanks guys! Yes the wrap was killing me, looked like nobody owned the bike.

The mrs told me to keep the wrap for a few more months as it looked more festive green than Kawasaki green (she loves to take the piss)

A bit more progress, but will need a few more days of drying before the clear coats and then the usual stickers get added

The old fairing needs a fair bit more work before it's ready for paint, it's going to be my track day fairing

I've been spending some time on my exhaust today. It's been a little neglected since I dropped the bike on T3 a while back.
It ended up pretty squished, but as the bike is tuned to the full Ti Over Racing system, I didn't really want to swap it out.

The first recovery step was to jam the whole thing in a vice and slowly crank it up. Like a tyre going on a rim, a few POP's later and it was pretty well back to shape.
Next I drilled out the rivets holding on the end cap and rotated the end and internals round by 180 degrees.
Although the system was a limited edition run, for R6, I was able to track down a new metal emblem from Japan for $25.

After getting rid of the gravel rash with some emery paper and metal polish, I riveted it all back together and here it is:

Ta mate! Amazing what you can do when there is no other option
I searched for a LONG time to try and find someone to put on a new tip and to re-skin but every exhaust place I tried said it'd cost much more to fix than to buy a new muffler.

That rear disc looks like something off my mountain bike!

So, bike is lockwired, sharkfin on, front sprocket cover on, coolant flushed, (by the way, took 6 times to flush it before grrenish tinge was gone...) Pretty much done, other than where the bloody hell do I find mailbox red vinyl/contact for number board?!!?

Woohoo! monday will be fun, hoping I can score friday off for practise, then lose my race virginity. PB for me!

Any vinyl shop. I've got some if you're desperate.

But don't worry about colours too much. As long as your number is clearly legible, colours aren't too important.
