I didn't realise how special that bike is, until someone filled me in on its history and what it is. The forks alone cost six times more than my entire bike did! Also, the young bloke can ride a bit too, so it was always going to be a lethal combo. I don't think that bike will come out to play again though; there was talk of it being put back on moth balls, so it might still be safe for you to keep riding yours.

How much volume of wrap do you estimate would be needed to wrap a bike? + more for first timer wrapping

BMW RR Experience. Pay a small amount of money to thrash one of their shiny new 2015 S1000RRs around the Creek for a session. Lunch included, and a snazzy t-shirt. Bonus!

I did the sad, very slow shake of the head that expresses disappointment and slight disdain, rather than outright aggression. I just wanted him to be in no doubt about who was the better rider.

    Hey Lee.
    I got a 10' x 5' roll. It s a good amount. some left over still.

Get a 50m roll of knifeless tape.
You'll use it all. It works out about $150 cheaper than buying it 10m at a time from Supercheap.

I sorted of got it sorted. Found the data it had collected from the second session and was amazed to look at it all.
Managed to get the speed and gearing working (calculated via GPS) for the 3rd session and then the day was over really quickly.

I wasted about 4hrs at home on Sunday night trying to recover and/or find the data that i had blonded out and deleted while fucking about at the track.
Almost got the Dash all sorted now. The Race Technology analysis software is really complex and designed for supreme over boffins but i'm working it out.

Most of all, i'm fucking pumped with how well the bike performs with the new mapping. An absolute thrill to ride.
Was dusting a Ducati or two on the straight in the 1 full session i did and got within ½ a second of my PB at the same time.
Very keen to just hop on and ride it now whenever possible for the rest of the year.

Fitted solar-powered battery lighting power for the trailer LEDs (if that makes sense), so that the lights work without the car attached with its headlights on:

Walked past it at Bunnings and at $229 it was a bargain compared to how much time and drill bits I was going through trying to do it by hand. Was a bit of an IQ test to assemble, but I got there ... in the end.

Yes I now have Frank's fast changing goodness front and back, still got to put on the GP Hooks for the rear and grind the front of the pads so I can get the front on and off without removing calipers.

    Aiming for this ...

New EBC rotors and pads. Gonna see if they reduce front brake vibration for T1. Were the bestest on the Gixxer, totally changed for the better braking feel.

I put on the Attack Performance rearsets and farked around with some Stahlbus brake bleeding / oil change simplicity kit. [Although the FF front brake caliper removal not required appears mandatory to use the Stahlbus speed bleeders on the front calipers. They stop the top caliper bolt from coming all the way out, what a shimozzle]. Caliper clean with soap and toothbrush, followed by a little brake bleeding session with dot5.1 front and back.

Future plans for shark fin, grinding front face of front pads, 520 chain / sprockets, YEC ECU install + dyno and ... it will be 'finished' ...

But for now just need sunshine on weekend to ride the damn thingy me jig.

The two on the LHS are only finger tight, so axle can slide. . RHS is to torque, now never have to touch again. . The wire is 2mm so 3mm seemed Ok. 5mm soundz excessive?

Drilled at very low speed with oil to cool. Took 3 min per side of pinch bolt. . If you got bolt too hot you could temper it mildly combined with excessive hole could weaken?

Check the clearance for wheel rub on the GP lifters. I had to modify mine to work but they're a dream when sorted.
Axle comes out, wheel stays right where it is.
