So working on the front race stay, the OEM intake was a two peice section that held a ??diaphragm in place. The new is a single piece with no preset positions.

1st question what does this gear actually do? It's connected to a fuel cut off solenoid and a tank surge.
    OEM part lay out

It's pretty easy to fit it up to the intake, if I install the diaphragm at the front of the new intake is that going to restrict the air flow at all? Will it serve its actual purpose?

    Excuse my ignorance

    Soooooo....... This just happened

The zx10 had one for EPA noise stuff, connected to a flap on the intake.
I removed the hardware, but left the electrical nonsense so not to put any codes up.
    Not sure if that help

Interesting... The R6 has intake temp and pressure sensors on it's intake, I wonder if it's something along those lines?
    What is part #7 called?

Part 3 is a air temp sensor. That position was cast into the intake on the stay. The fact that there nothing cast for this other gear has me thinking Lee might be on to something. Maybe it's not needed for a race bike?
But I e really got no idea what ist for.

Yeah, I think that's right, it's for the intake flapper. It will probably chuck an error but you'll want max air at all times so no need for it.

Consensus is its needs to go. Hopefully I'll get that and rear sets sorted on Wednesday. Then levers and it should be good for a fairing less test ride around the estate at work.

    Soooooo....... This just happened

Rear sets on, order a couple of spares so they can go back in the kit. Tomorrow Ive got to make up a bracket to hold the Gryo in place, oem it's under the battery but I'll mount it on top cause its easer.
The front stay is now complete with the epa gear removed. and no error codes!!

I've been looking at the tank, and although I have a tank cover to go over it I've been thinking about trying to pop it back out with compressed air. It's pretty soft, and should be a simple as hooking air up to the vent line (blocking off the others) and slowly increasing the pressure, I might slightly warm the tank 1st. It's so soft it might just pop back out.

Anyone see and obvious issues with this?

Tested out all the fancy settings and couldn't drill down into the main menu. I also has an error code and a front shock symbol. Looking further into it I found one of 4 wires from the electronic suspension had been severed.

So soldered it up, and low and behold the menu worked and the error code disappeared. Peewww was sweating bullets for a bit there.

Nice progress, Luke!! Great work on finding the suspension issue too!
Can't see why the air wouldn't work. Can you seal it up to withstand that pressure?

I haven't done must of late with work getting in the way, but managed to fit up the gyro
    IMG_3114.JPG
Finished off all the other bits n pieces and fitted a temporary seat ready for a test ride
    IMG_3115.JPG
the bike rides well, straight and no error codes, God I do love this bike,
The fork will need a bit of love, as will both of the front rims actually, must have been from the initial road drop, so ill pull them out, if i can get them back for the 29th.

Oh and a Vid, because Nicks clearly still at work

Quick question, I'm assuming I'll need to drill out the two break away bolts to get the ignition Barrel out, so I can take the triple with the forks for Straighting?

No easer way to do it????The wiring is run up through the frame and looks the be a pain in the ass to locate and disconnect.

you could try to dremel a screwdriver slot in the head of the screw, heat up the screw to melt the loctite and try and unscrew it

+1 for Mark's method. I got that to work on the R6.
Drill and easy out is another method, I had to resort to angle grinder on the BMW but there was enough space away from electrics etc.

Had to drill the heads off in the end. Couldn't get enough heat in, to over come the copious amounts of lock tight... Sorted now though
    Cheers again

Just re installed it as stock with new bolts. Bit to much mucking around to go key less. It's got a separate key for reading faults ect so in the add I'll put
"Comes with 3 keys !!!" Lol
