Where are you getting the seat pad from?...Tristan?.
I'm keen on the half circle pad ..even with my fat ass there room.
Tristan from aussiesportsbikegear.com.au was kind enough to offer a little support with racing for next season. One of the products he sells is Bonamici Racing rearsets. Bonamici are involved with the Goldbet BMW Superstock team, and have a lot of cool parts for lots of different late model bikes. http://www.bonamiciracing.it/home.html
The rearsets came well packaged, and are work of art to look at. Fitment was a fairly straight forward affair, with a little bit of tweaking to fit how I wanted, but nothing too difficult. The kit is very complete with a good shifter mount, all mounting bolts and shift rod supplied also.
The mount holes and position were identical to the ones I had on. So no adjusting needed! Lots of adjustment if needed though
The Alpha Racing units I have been using, are top of the line and retail for over $800. These retail for $515! Weigh the same and have a few features I prefer over the premium Alpha gear.
One of those preferences is the more aggressive footpeg grips. I tend to push quite hard with my outside foot when coming off turns and occasionally my foot comes off the peg. Hasn’t happened with these.
The verdict? I love them. They look sensational, are equal or better than much higher priced products. But the big plus for me, has been the shifting. I have tried a few different configurations on this bike as it has a really finicky shift and false neutrals can be scary. So far with a practice day on the full circuit and seven times on track at the St George meeting – not a single missed shift.
Get onto Tristan through this forum or his website www.aussiesportsbikegear.com.au and check out the gear.

Next product fitment will be the very slick looking race seat pad from Raceseats Italy supplied by aussiesportsbikegear.com.au http://www.raceseats.it/sella_universale_e.htm

I was surprised. The Alpha Racing ones are quite thin and relieved in a lot of places for weight, and look much lighter. So when these, which look and feel more solid weighed almost identical before I removed the stainless exhaust hanger = bonus!
Lets not poke fun at the old fat guy. Everyone's gotta eat. Some a bit more than others
Back to the gym proper this week for senator8. After a 41/2 year absence

I'm using Bonamici rearsets on my 1199 and R6. Loads of adjustability on the R6 rearsets in particular. Also got Bona levers, front brake protector, mirror block off plates and keyless gas cap for the 1199 too, good quality kit. IMG_3162.jpgIMG_3303.jpgIMG_3242.jpgIMG_3243.JPG
Nice! You going to have a run in BEARS this year?

BTW, they are really, really nice rearsets. I helped Steve fit his ones, and they are very nice.

I used the Bona's on the R6 for the first time yesterday and today. They're great - lots of adjustability and pegs are nice and grippy. Heal guard is at a good angle too - almost horizontal whereas a lot of others are at around 45 degrees. Goood kit
