Just so long as you have a suitable race licence

They won't let you enter if not.

And get ready for what would be classified as 'close passing' on a track day hahahaha

'close' is just a relative term! rubbing is racing right?

  12. #12
It wouldn't be racing without rubbing...

Unless you use dirty tactics rubbing is poor sportsmanship.

Meh... I never actually initiated contact (not skilled enough) but I was 'rubbed' a few times whilst being overtaken. Like most rubbing, when it's done right is 100% safe and it makes for good fun! As long as it's not 'I'll clip your front wheel' rubbing, it's fine...

By your definition, anyone on GP (pick your class) would either be dirty or suffer from poor sportsmanship!

Funnily enough riders of their talent still stay a lot safer than super heros who think they are in GP doing a TD

Oh, no doubt they do! Just watch any track day and it''s quite obvious to see that.. but like I said 'when done right it's safe' and the difference there is knowing to do it right! I know I don't so I don't try. I'd hate to be the guy that got too carried away and ruined someone else's day. Second only to being that guy who's day was ruined I suppose... hahaha

pls avoid things like this too, almost a bit more than a rub

Yeah I saw that. From what I understood he didn't even mean to try and overtake but his lever failed and... well, things got out of shape really fast. Can't blame him other than he should know better than to take a chance on a cheap part when it comes to brakes. Going on the inside though.... bad bad move! But I'd be hypocrite if I said I never had a moment under brakes.

    Surely this ok though?

  19. #19
his lever didn't fail, it was never prepared! i've never had an OEM "fail"

moments under brakes are ok, we all have them. if you don't, you aren't trying.

that pic.... definitely ok... dovi is just adding some more colour to his leathers?

You won't get in the way as long as you are predictable and don't change your lines. The fast guys will line you up and blow past so quick there won't be any time to hold them up, but if you deviate your course, you risk getting cleaned up by them. If you're on the ideal race line, they will also be very close when they fly past, but the quicker guys usually know what they are doing, so don't be put off, or baulk, when they brush past you and you'll be fine.
