Thanks for the hand moving garages Rob.

Overall I had a good day ... the new shock was way better than the old setup ... after Nick's massive help dialing in some suspension settings it was feeling solid. I have had so little track time combined with new bike that I have not been overly comfortable / confident, but that's started to turn a corner yesterday.

Although Spilly did go past me in session 3 like I was standing still. And I managed to do a massive stoppie, avoiding the green ZX10 who's early braking in old T9 really caught me out. I was so lucky to stay on, I thought I was going to face plant it.

Hope Shippy gets to the bottom of his starting troubles. We should have done a permanent tank swap, your tank looks prettier than mine.

Had a great day at the creek yesterday, need to find out what the problem is with the esd ohlins steering damper, (dam 3c code!!!)

Thanks to marshy for giving me some points / tips which were very helpful, still working on them as Rick found out on my cool down lap sorry about that! just get the hose out on the leathers and all will be well

But all in all a great day, still got a lot of learning to do, but if it was easy, every man and his dog would do it

JMJ I came close to taking us both out. At least I know the new R6 stops well on just one wheel. ;-)

Not a problem, I hosed out the leathers today! It's true what people say ... I am full of it! :-)

Mate, I found some footage of when I followed you for a little bit. As you can see, you brake way too much, slowing right down for initial turn-in, then as you settle in for the turn, you are hard on the gas to get back up to normal corner speed heading towards the apex. You need to be tipping in at the speed you intend to carry through the middle of the turn (actually, you should tip in faster, because the front tyre will wash off a heap of speed on its own, plus any trail braking you also do).

The footage doesn't show it that well, but going into T10 particularly I had to jump on the brakes to not hit you!

That is excellent info and footage to help with improved riding.
As you said marshy, lines are ok, exit is ok, just need to work on entry speed to help improve over all package.
That Video is great info, thanks marshy.

No, the thumbnail isn't from on board Wetty's bike. It's his close pass on me at the ARDC day the other day. I was expecting it, but it still made me flinch a little!

He's looks really really big on a teeny tiny bike. Hahah

  8. #108
LOL ... yeah I flinched watching it ... Nick can I X post that on the 'other forum'?

BTW .. did you get your electrickery sorted, or are you now working out how to get that Ape Navigator system? I saw a post from the US site, where a guy picked one up from an Ape Dealer that was going out of business. But still needs a new code every 12 months for updates. All looks very convoluted.

  9. #109
haha wetty keeping you on your toes...... I like it

that would have been really close though

  10. #110

    That shit pisses me off.

It's a track day not race day. Don't care how quick you are.... Pass safely!!! We all want to get the bike home in one piece.

Unless that was of course a race

    Too true!

Sure rubbing is racing and close riding is fun, but even in a race - low level club racing that is - no one is impressed by dodgy overtakes. aka BAD SPORTSMANSHIP!
More often than not it ruins both of the riders laps anyway.

4 gears? don't remember doing that but it is possible

It's possible, first time after big crash, I was doing 1:58's I think. I am yet to have a dry timed run with a working bike at the GP circuit since
