Not that I am going to apply anyways,….. But
From what i can gather on there forms its not overly expensive to register maybe $600 with the friday ?
Is that right or am I missing something???? Would have thought it was way more to be honest.

600s are much cheaper - tyres are cheaper, fuel is quite a bit less, and you wouldn't be staying in the luxury 5 star accommodation that chubb has clearly chosen
Entries aren't too bad for any race meet (FX, ASBK, St George etc). Don't forget garage costs!! They are the hidden expense with FX and ASBK. But race meets are usually roughly in line with track day costs, or somewhat less (eg a 3-day race weekend is less than the cost of 3 track days). The tradeoff is normally less overall track time. Unless it's a race meet that you can cross-enter for a low price (St George, FXRRC, ASBK. Note NOT FX proper). Then you get MORE track time than the equivalent number of track days, and for less coin.
The other 'hidden' expense (in FX primarily) is tyres. If you have to run a control tyre, they are not typically the longest-lasting or potentially best suited to your bike, and you need to buy more of them. Also you often just can't use old tyres, as they change the compound, so you need to buy new ones. Great for the people making the money, not so good for the competitor.

I'm trying to bum off Kitson for accommodation. I think I need to give him a gold bar.

Hmm I see, Thats pretty pricey In that regard. I guess I was just going off my Riding at the moment I.E.
- would not need any bike prep ( if same rules as st george apply )
- 1 set of tyres would pretty much last me the weekend
- Also live 40 min from the track.
I was always under the impression that the actual entry fee was around 2K
2k is what a full weekend with accommodation and 2 sets of tyres was costing for f oz
