Thread: Should Baddie Race at St George rd5?

Should Baddie Race at St George rd5?

With all the first time racers entering the next St George round. I thought that there could not be any excuse for Baddie to not be riding his new bike.
Who cares how fast or slow anyone thinks they may be? Just get out there and have some fun!

He has been talking about getting himself and bike ready for this since the beginning of the year. Now he tells me he's not entering!
What say you? Should Baddie race/ride? Should we start a petition at change.org?

I dont even think he will be ready for st george 2014. He will still be shopping for more go faster bits so no time to ride it.

There's nothing wrong with being a (one?) bike collector...

In all seriousness though, I watched a doco on the Targa Rally in Tasmania where one of the guys said: "If you build the car yourself, if you work on it, if you plan it and make it great, and it looks good then when it's ready you'll never go fast on it. Because you'll know what it took for it to get there and that will stop you from going all out" or something to that effect.

That's also my excuse for having one of the ugliest bikes out there.

Amen, brother. This is why I never make my own racebikes pretty! Or even wash them, for that matter.....

Don't worry about racing it..........when's he going to ride it?

  11. #11
I like mine pretty ... (well to my eyes) ... when she gets hit with the ugly stick ... I'll just explore some more funky colour schemes ... assuming I can cello tape and staple the broom broom bits back together
I like the quote out of the Motorcycle Track Day Handbook by Kent Larson, something about if you're not able to watch your bike burn to the ground on the outside of T2 don't take it to the track.

Is that tear, because of the 11 votes or because there are only 11 votes?

Nobody knows. It's like spotting a panda; you know that it's technically possible, but it's been a very long time since anyone's seen one in the wild.....

My bike kind of looks like a Panda ever since they screwed up my number board. But its easy to spot me, somewhere at the back, going slow enough for the amateur photographers to hone their skills

I thought it was compulsory to race if you were on this forum. At least that's what marshy told me.

Should Baddie Race at St George rd5?

Doooo it! I popped the cherry at round 3, was nervous as, was worried I wouldn't have everything right for scrutineering and what not. Glad I got it out of the way now I can actually get excited about the next one.

I painted my bike with $4 worth of matt black Aussie export rattlers about 18 months ago. I reckon making it pretty is a curse. (And I didnt feel so bad coming last because the bike doesn't look like million bucks)

  25. #25
I was f@#% worried about being collected or crashing off the start and that alone was enough to keep me from racing for a while... but once you do your first race of the day, that's gone and it become almost like a track day. These days, the thing that worries me the most is missing the call to grid... nearly missed it once and would have if it wasn't for the awesome help of Ms.Stu!

Happy to supply the van. We will have to get the dosage right so he wakes up on the grid. No choice then.
