Could never understand why the bmw had 2 different headlights . Its a really nice looking bike until you see the headlights then it just says to me , two different blokes must have designed a headlight each and no one picked up that they were different or no one could make a decision as to which one looks the better . its just wrong.
How many cars do you see driving with 2 different headlights? ...
Although the bmw track bikes that dont have the headlights now that looks much better .

Got some new bits and pieces for the R6 today.. Lots of mixed reports about the 30mm carts. Anyone had much to do with ktech carts?

Hey nick, yeah mate the 30mm ohlins... So this is what i have read, but also read that some say they are good.
I am thinking about not getting the ohlins put in and selling them and then buying the ktech carts. I saw you can get the carts and valves as a kit at a fair price. They have about 3 different versions though obviously increasing in price and a from memory there where 20mm and 25mm versions.
The 20mm Ktech are the gas-pressurised jobbies. Very nice, but out of my price range. I got the 25mm open (conventional) carts. They took a bit of dialling in, like anything.
Happy to talk you through the various options. Gimme a call during the week sometime.

Come to think of it, our newest member HYPE is about the only person I know to get the 30mm Ohlins to work. Maybe he can comment?

The 25mm Ohlins are the ducks, Ktech a redesigned similar... the 30mm are finicky to get right and seem to work better on the bigger bikes.
Have had both and I would recommend the 25s, especially on the 600
Ktech 20mm are the best.. such a great feeling from my front end... now how to exploit it is a different story..... hmmmm
30mm can be made to work though..
I decided my bike was slow because it was too heavy, so I did some major weight reduction work. It should be fast now!!!

Fuck it. That'll do for now.
Time to go and get it all dirty tomorrow... Looking at the weather i may need to book in Monday for a second go....
What did you do today Nick ?
I sorted of got it sorted. Found the data it had collected from the second session and was amazed to look at it all.
Managed to get the speed and gearing working (calculated via GPS) for the 3rd session and then the day was over really quickly.
I wasted about 4hrs at home on Sunday night trying to recover and/or find the data that i had blonded out and deleted while fucking about at the track.
Almost got the Dash all sorted now. The Race Technology analysis software is really complex and designed for supreme over boffins but i'm working it out.
Most of all, i'm fucking pumped with how well the bike performs with the new mapping. An absolute thrill to ride.
Was dusting a Ducati or two on the straight in the 1 full session i did and got within ½ a second of my PB at the same time.
Very keen to just hop on and ride it now whenever possible for the rest of the year.
getting her track ready and stopped here where do I go from here... Is there somewhere I can get threaded grommets?

looks a chinese problem
my sweet and sour pork is good tonite , they do cook food well
What wetty Is trying to say is.... cue marshy
Life's too Short- YOLO!
Cheers Wetty, but can't argue with free fairings...

An executive summary of what Wetty is trying to say is.... you get what you pay for. Or better yet, the bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the happiness of a low price is forgotten.
The verbose version is: ah, I see you have gone with a Chinese-made fairing set, rather than a locally-produced set such as my own Wet4U brand, or a set from our awesome site sponsor, Superbike Source (which, although also made in China and thus very competitively priced, has higher quality and better support than many so-called bargains available on ebay). The usual problem with such a purchase is that it might seem like a bargain, but problems can arise, such as how to mount the side fairing panels to the unique Suzuki side mounts. In instances like this, it should be borne in mind that whilst Chinese make exceptionally good food, they are not as well-known for making high-quality motorcycle race fairings.
Do you have the OEM side mounts you could use?

Hahaha.... Point taken I have seen and have much respect for the wet4u and superbikesource race glass (the R6 will get nothing less) however just trying to fit what I've got to move the gixxer on. I still have the OEM fairings so is it a case of cropping the plugs and fitting them to the glass I have? ....and yes, they do make some amazing food hahaha

Doesn't matter what fairings you have they all bolt there on the gixxer. Most people use zipties I found a place that did larger wellnuts after googling.
Or ask dan he has a rivetnut jobbie
