Interesting. So it wasn't just me. I didn't think I was going that deep or that hard, if I'm honest, so I was quite surprised about the long stopping distance. I had to readjust my braking marker for the rest of the day.

Otherwise I found the grip to be great, particularly the rear, but I credit the Dunlops with the difference. They are simply a faster tyre. They have a bunch of potential negatives (longevity, quality control, high sensitivity to the 'wrong' pressures or temperatures, needing different compounds for different times of day, etc) but there's no doubting the grip level is higher. I was consistently 1.5 to 2 secs quicker than the equivalent level of effort a week earlier. I ran the 3 in the morning sessions and changed to a 2 after lunch in the heat.

Did you think it was less grippy than usual? There were a lot of old oil stains.
