On sat i got a chance to finally try this thing out on track.

Got a fresh set of slicks put on SC1 front and SC2 rear.
I didn't get a chance to get the suspension fettled with so just ran it with the same street setup i had and its still pretty damn impressive.

I hadn't been to Broadford in about 3 years so was riding like a bitch for the first few sessions.
Had a blast though and Marshy your right these Vesrah pads are just stupidly good, along with the Brembo 19x18 MC i can brake so so much later than on my old fireblade its amazing.

By the end of the day i was still 2 secs off my PB there but with some more saddle time and confidence in the bike and most importantly growing a set of balls i hope to get faster than i was on the blade.

I had a few electrical gremlins with the bike cutting out on the front and back straights 2 times leaving me to run off track out of the way and try to get it restarted. Will have to get that sorted before the next day as i don't want the engine shutting off mid corner.

I found i'm really struggling to get my BP correct on this bike and really use up all the lean angle it offers. On the Blade i would touch down the knee easily and use that as a guide....this thing just seems to have infinite lean angle and i struggle to get my knee down and know how much lower i can go. Again something i need to get used to.

Cant wait to get out there again though this bike is FUN

Here are some snaps from the first 2 sessions when i was riding pretty slow and careful just feeling out the bike.

Woohooo!! Great pics, mate! Looks like you had a blast.
Any idea what the electrical gremlins were?

Awesome pics!! Looks like you're just not entirely trusting the available lean angle. You can carry more corner speed (and therefore lean angle) than you are in the photos. Try braking a little less and rolling into the turns with a bit more speed on board. It will cope with it better than the Honda. The RSV4 begs to be ridden like a 600

Sicko- I've had this problem before in the past and i thought it was gone but obviously not. The dash/ECU is losing power somehow. A little logo comes up on the dash showing ECU and a unplugged symbol and it just kills the motor and fuel pump. From my understanding its either a loose wire/plug on the dash (which i jiggled to get it working again) or some oxidation on the protection relay near the battery. Im going to check it tomorrow but i've been told what is most likely the cause so hopefully its a simple fix.

Nick- yep i think your exactly right....by the end of the day i was using a lot more lean (still not enough though) and entering corners much quicker than when these photos were taken. But i think i just need to learn to trust this excellent front end and adjust my riding style to suit the bike...the blade was a big fat 11 year old pig compared to this much slimmer chassis. Thanks for the tips mate

I see what you mean. I've also had some weird power/error problems with my R6 dash. I spent a lot of time cleaning and straightening pins and I ended up swapping out the harness from the ECU/main loom to the dash which made the problem go away.
