What class are you looking at Kris ? How's your build coming along ?
I'm still in two minds, but 37s wont cut it in SBK/OZ so i think ill stick with Pro Twins again. Curtin/Martin will be there so its lightly to get a bit more competitive!
Honestly? fucking slowly. I hope and pray, that the bike will be ready for Round 2 - sure as hell not for Round 1. Must be the worlds longest bike build...
Ill race my stockish wet bike in Round 1

They were just the spare, wet bikes, sitting unloved on their own at the front. The racebikes were back in the annex to the transporter. Jeez it must be nice to have a fleet of R1Ms as wet bikes......

Good fun learning how to ride the 10R.
Dude. You smoked them in that second race. I assume you had a shit start in the first by the time we saw you you'd dropped back to 5/6th. You were definitely closing the gap by the end big time. Second a lap at least I thought.

First national race meet under my belt now. Honestly expected to be around mid-pack but was pleasantly surprised to be up the pointy end. Couldn't beat the resident of SMP but its ok, there will be next time. I definitely had picked up some pace on the big 10R but a shame I didn't dip into the 36s. Got pretty much to a 37 flat (only 6 seconds away from the next A grader!!) Oh well next time.
Made some geometry changes to the bike and it steers heaps better now. Need to go back to starting school though cuz my starts suck!!! Each time off the line I lose 5-6 spots and have to claw it back throughout the race to gain back spots. I did finish on the top step in the second race on Saturday.
Got heaps of work to do to make sure my starts are much much betterer. Still pretty happy overall considering I only got the 10R 3 months ago and still need a lot more time with it. Its a long season and hopefully I can do well at all of em!
Credit to Ray Oxford for this pic. Until next time peeps

I reckon you are faultless there, chubb. You were lots in front of Mark, and whilst you did go very deep, you didn't cut back onto the race line or anything. I think Mark got a bit 'target fixated' on you, had a bit of a wobble when he felt a possible collision coming, then caused the very collision he was trying to avoid by standing the bike up and hitting you.
When I first watched it, it looked more like you were at fault, but looking at it a few times it's clear you wouldn't have even seen him until you two collided. It was just an unfortunate racing incident.

Chubb would have had clear view!! the guy sat up to avoid being chopped!!
Mark had the line and was drifting to the out side as you do in turn 1 and race craft would say if you had the speed to hold a tighter line, take him on the inside...am i wrong? If you going around the outside or you ran deep, you got to make sure its going to stick, not maybe!!!
just another race incident... na not imo ...as wetty said "you got him good"
i wouldnt be so nice about it if it happened to me:smokin:
bring it on!

Interesting interpretations..... there's lessons there regardless of who's at fault.
If people can't face that reality then they should reconsider their desire to be on the track...

I hate buying into these arguments because it gets very personal.
I've watched it over and over and this is what I think happened:
Rancell makes dive on mark
Rancell runs wide, so mark goes tight to cross him back. Standard stuff.
Then it looks like mark lost his nerve and suddenly decommited from the battle. This is where only he would know what he was thinking but if I had to guess I would say that he thought rancel was coming back at him on the inside and decided to give him room. I find it hard to believe that if he knew Rancell was coming up on his right that he would have reacted the way he did. He clearly wasn't trying to block him, I think his intentions were good but made the wrong split second decision (we don't have rear view mirrors). If he stayed on his original path I reckon he would've held onto his position and they both would've stayed on track. But that's only my opinion, plenty of others have given their 2c.

I watched that incident and the many replays via the live streaming. My immediate thoughts were and still are, that it was an unfortunate racing incident. All the ifs, buts and maybe's don't change what happened. I'm sure neither rider wanted that to happen and that type of thing will no doubt happen time and time again. As the saying goes, shit happens - just a lot more on the race track. It was great racing before and after that incident though.
