12 minute overview of all the systems on it with Josh Hayes .
Jesus shit this thing is jaw dropping. I've got 1 mate who's already ordered one, some of you know him too (Adam near Canberra). Anyone else here putting a deposit down?

I've given up wiping and just carry a bucket with me.

I'm seriously contemplating getting myself one maybe at the end of this year. I'll probably have to settle for the R1 though as I imagine all the Ms will be snatched up by the big track boys by then.
You should get one Marshy and then just sell tickets to TT members to ride it.

Adam Torretto?? If so, yes I know! I'm jealous and can't wait to see his machine.

The integrated lap timer is GPS too! Pretty cool I reckon.

So the 1st few things the race tems will do is fit new suspension , fit a KIT harness and ECU and and and ,
only 8% better thru the air than the old pig , fark they need to sharpen there pencils

oh yeh and our fairings moulds are 25% finished

I'm actually very surprised too. It seems a teeny tiny improvement over what was a massive pig of a machine.

Did anyone else think it looked kinda 'wobbly' on the track?? It didn't look ultra-planted and on-the-deck through the turns. Probably the rider though (and the road tyres). It just seemed odd for a promo vid about the new racebike.

yeh it looks like he's having a few stabs at each turn

talked to a test pilot coupla days ago after being in the saddle and there program is so far to go they looks like they pulled the pin on the PI round
they were riding the preproddy bikes left here from the final testing in nov , lots of problems ,
i did like when commented , fark if you were a privateer you'd be stupid not to get a ZX10R .

it will be good but not this 1/2 of the year

Just watched this on the Tv....Its sounds great....All im reading is yamaha are trying to Adopt the Green machine idea of building a bike for the race track.
But like mentioned only 8% better thru the air... i was lucky/unlucky nothing before buying recent green machine to ride a 2014 r1 and have to say sound great but fuck me handle no where near as good as a Green machine.
Also $20k...Fk me....add the performance and bling you will be looking at near $25K if not more.

I've only ridden the latest R1's at Wheelie Zone and just cruising around the suburbs. Are they really that bad at speed through the wind wall? I always thought they were really planted in the corners at speed?

Agree with the comments of the test rider though, he looks like he's riding on ice.
The Graves boys look nice and smooth though with it.

From Revzilla
"The 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1 and YZF-R1M will go on sale in February of 2015 for $16,490 and $21,990 respectively."

Guessing that's USD.

EDIT: I'm sure they've changed a bit, since the release is now meant to be March too. But yeah, from what I can tell, the R1M will be similar price to S1000RR.

Might be slightly premature to say the R1M doesnt handle as well as a ZX10? Given no one here has ridden one, let alone a setup one.

It's $23,500 without onroads for the base R1

$30,000 for the R1M without onroads

Could be great for flicking but yeah, mid corner didn't look too planted.

Pretty sure it comes with jump jets on the side which kick in before it hits the ground.
