Just got to get some bits and bobs sorted over the next few weeks.

Clip ons, some brake protectors in case someone merges right, get a proper exhaust hanger. Maybe some different brake and clutch levers.
Will strip it tonight.

anyone know anything about flashing the ECU? Looking at the Woolich stuff but some people reckon Tuneboy is the way to go. (Gonna keep this one to superbike rules)

It's what lots of quick guys have been running, so it can't be too bad. Leanne had a go on one set up with Ktec suspension a couple of weeks ago and said it was perfect. Now, she wants (says she NEEDS) to get one! She has already sold both of her 125s and has the ZX6 up for sale, so it won't be too long before she gets hers too.

Woolich is the go, so much stuff that can be changed apart from tune.

And from what I have seen arrow is the go, but I agree with wetty, have a ride and see what you think.

Other thing I found is front brakes can fade, am sure it's all been done but:

S/S lines
Good pads, I run vesrah
Run backing plates
660 motul fluid and change regular

But your a old hand at this, so am sure your all over it

That does look a little too close to the radiator, no? The one the 6 would get stupidly hot just sitting inside the fairings, can't image how hot it would get if I had it where that one is. Well, tbh, that was the faulty rectifier which Kawasaki kindly replaced on recall... so that might have had something to do with it.

Hid the fuse box and some wiring under the airbox so everything looks neater.

Also put the wheel so that it is rotating in the right direction. Previous muppet had it in the wrong direction (with the wheel sensor on the right not left)!! Even more puzzling why Kawasaki didn't design it such that the wheel only fits in the one direction! All sorted now though.

Can't they just remove immobilizer when you get it dynoed so normal cut key would work? Works on R6 ... otherwise copy of key without the master costs $250.

Little Mick
25-12-2014, 08:35 PM
Not on zx6r. ..lose red key you need nu ecu.. expect the 10 to be the same. You can remove barrel and put it under the tank and wire a switch in line.. leave key in on position. ..

Preddy's locksmiths (http://www.preddeys.com.au/) in Miranda (top locksmith IMHO, do the advanced stuff) advised me of the price $250 odd for one R6 copy ... I believe it's the same technique they use to copy the other electronic keys. From memory they can't create a new red from a black, only clone blacks.

Get a RAM mount. Fix the base to the inside of your top faring, to left or right, whichever you prefer.

Mine sits where the red circle is on the pic. rock solid. Doesn't have to be moved. Surprisingly easy to glance across and see.
you're talking about 30-45 degree's of difference in vision to look down and see that position when you're on track.
I tried it at one stage. Felt miles away.

That's why I pulled apart the bike and am checking everything before I go out on a trackday. I don't want to be one of those people who delays everyone's track time and money with spilt coolant/oil etc

It's a real shame 1 can't trust anyone anymore when buying 2nd hand bikes

Faaark the power of the 10R! Rip my arms out everytime you wind on the throttle!

Very fun bike and very quick. Rider not so much. Still have it in pussy mode.

A false neutral during one of the sessions but that's because I was a numpty and didn't put a positive push on the gear lever. Think will have to adjust the gear shift lever and make it slightly higher.

Overall very fun bike! Will have to do more setup and have plenty of seat time I think.

Why does majority think that over-tightening bolts is better than normal torque spec? So many bolts on this bike are over-tightened to the death and this Capital Threads dude is gonna make some good dough with all the bolts he has to drill out.

I have an extra RK VG520FWR Ultimate race chain if you're interested Chubb. RK's lightest Superbike Race chain. Good price for brand new....

Liking the wheel decals ;)
