I have been looking at this stuff for ages too. most people are using gymbals instead of gyro servos. There are ready made systems for camera helicopters that can be used, using two gymbals; one for lean, one for tilt (front wheel up). Look up the Tarrot 2D system. if i had spare cash i would try it.
