I've never been before and I've also never done a proper race start so wanna kill two birds and pop my cherries this Thursday night.
Its only $55 to participate and $20 for spectators. Here's the link with the info:

Practicing on the R6 is my priority but I'm tempted to take the Pani along as well. Or is this just asking to confuse myself going from one bike to the other??
Anyway, leme know if anyone is keen. A few boys from the Syd Ducati Club have gone before and said it was a blast.
Cheers,
Steve

Are u sure u can? I don't know if it's different for bike night but at the drags entry is usually for one rider and bike.
I say this every bike night - I'm gonna try and make it out, it's tricky on work nights for me. I'll load it up tonight and hope for the best.

Work is rudely intruding into my life at the moment so I don't know I can do tonight. Rain forecast not helping either...

My bike and gear is loaded up at home ready to go. So unless I get fucked over by work Ill be there.
There's no guarantee it'll rain, I'm going to assume it won't and watch their FB page.

Run naked, as it were. There's nothing saying you need fairings, right?

He'd still need something to hold his dash up I'm thinking...

Pffff - do it ducati style and shift by feel (feeling the valve bounce, that is) ;)

Yeh the scrutinieers no nothing about bikes, if your lucky they'll check that your throttle returns

They're pretty thorough with the gear though... especially the helmet.

They only look for the correct standard sticker. I've seen guys race in business pants and shoes

And date of manufacture which had faded off in my helmet... thankfully I'd brought 2 that day!

:heh: Yep.I was surprised about the gear.I know its all pretty straight forward(literally) and there isn't as big a risk as riding next door but i'd have thought OHS culture of Sydney AUS would have the fluro police mandating full leathers and full boots at a minimum considering the number of peeps all running 10 seconds and doing 220kph+.I'm happy either way as its at your own risk but im sure a few track runners would be miffed at the laid back requirements.

Oh cool I only got two runs in on each bike but the best I did was a 11.40 did that on both bikes. The race bike was out of control back wheel sliding every where front wheel In the air but I had fun.

Ah awesome, they let u run both bikes??
I wish I didn't forget my gopro, my first run was epic, wheel hovered straight off the line then came up again hard at the top of first. I had to roll out a little to control the wheelie, if I didn't it woulda been my best pass ever for sure. I want a 10.9 so bad, I've done heaps of low 11s and a few 11.0x passes.
Now my clutch is slipping a bit on launch. I'm going to the track on Sunday so I gotta try and fix it before then, otherwise I could ruin the whole pack. Hopefully it's just a couple of purple plates, I have a couple of spares.

Rear brake solves all wheelie problems. Come on don't be lazy. What is this rolling off the throttle crap.

My rear brake mc is dead, probably from lack of use.
It was climbing up and I was keeping it pinned but once I couldn't see past the dash anymore that's the point where I reluctantly rolled out some. I probably should've just shifted to 2nd before it got that high. I need to fix my rear brake but for drags and race starts I use right foot down so I can shift on the back wheel accurately.
Check out my clutch plates haha
