Thought a thread for posting your pics from the track would be good.
Everyone likes to post their pics for others to see and appreciate.
Post any pics from the track including from the pits if you like.
Tell us a bit about the photo/s - when, where, times, anything of interest.
Post as many or as few times as you like. It is a thread for your photos :)

Who is it behind me? That was the last race for 600's. I was drained for the last two laps. Wanted it to end, just wanted the chequered flag! And to make it worse, I had him breathing down my neck the whole time, so I couldn't slow down, haha.

The year is 1995. I'm living in Cherrybrook and my housemate (yes he was Asian) comes home with a nearly new Fireblade with a Yoshi pipe, top of the line Arai helmet and custom made race leathers with his name and cool sponsors stitched all over. (you must look cool when riding around the local shopping centre)
I was in awe, and hadn't ridden a bike since I was a kid. Not to be outdone, I went and bought some magazines and started researching and looking for the fastest bike you could buy. I didn't know that they should also handle, I just read "the fastest production bike in the world" so I bought a ZZR1100 :thumb:
I got it from the Kawasaki dealer in Parramatta. I didn't know at the time but Wetty worked there :) I arrived to pick up my bike and of course all my new gear with a mate who had just got his rider L's. I still had not ridden a bike since I was a kid and also did not yet have a license. There was a bit of a discussion about legalities with the salesman and the key was handed over. I take 20 mins in the car park working out how to put this gear on etc and then came the comedy act of trying to get it off the centre stand. Work it out eventually and get it started then proceed to wobble literally down the drive onto the street.
I concede and tell my mate I'm too nervous to double you, you'll have to double me. I do go and get my lic and do a stay upright course to learn to ride faster and discovered the track. So I then proceed to turn the big girl into a track bike and decide I need more power to catch the other bikes - custom rearsets, solo seat, big bore kit Yoshi cams, head work and jet kit, thanks.

A little over a year later I'm digging track riding and want something more suitable and lighter zx9b (not)
I ride another year and then park the bike due to business and other things getting the way. It sits in the garage until I sell it and don't touch a bike again.

I grew up in Cherrybrook by the way! Terrorized the place on mg RGV's and CBR-900's. I renewed my L's every 6 months 11 times cos back then you had no points on your L's so you couldn't lose them!

Me at Cadwell Park earlier last year...
Crazy wee course that - narrow, narrow track with next to no run-off around most of the corners.
Scary times, not to mention the freaking Mountain!! :scared:

Well seeing you are bringing out the oldies I dug some of mine out. Here's a few from mid 1994 to mid 1998. Sorry about the quality but they are pictures of pictures.
The first one is 1994 at Eastern Creek on my RGV250 before I turned it into a race bike. I'd been riding motorbikes for a total of about 2 years here. It's funny to look at these compared to the pictures of today.
431
This one is mid 1994 at Amaroo. My very first race meeting. I'm 5th last in this pic.
432
I don't have any from 1995. These next ones are 1996 at the Port Kembla TT.
433
To give you an idea of the size of the Grids back then. This is at Eastern Creek I think in 1996 in the 250cc Production Class.
435
These ones are at Oran Park in 1997 at the 6 Hour. I raced a GSXR750. A mate loaned us his road bike to race at it and we threw some fairings on it and raced in the 6 Hour.
434
RGV250 1997. I think the top pic is Oran Park and the bottom one is Eastern Creek old turn 12.
436
Last but not least, RS125 in 1998 at Eastern Creek. I did about 4 meetings on this bike and then retired.

Nope, that's just the lean angle the bike was capable of - the dunlop fronts were that good way back then too! I love this pic, because it shows how rubbish my style was (and still is!!) on right handers. On the left, I was knee-down everywhere, but on rights I was ALWAYS like this - right knee hard against the tank. I still today have major trouble touching my right knee down. I am forever swapping worn knee sliders from the left to the right, and untouched ones from the right to the left!!!!
Rusty was this a Shell round. If so I think I was on this grid also, up the back somewhere. The grids were big, you had to qualify just for 250 proddies.
To give you an idea of the size of the Grids back then. This is at Eastern Creek I think in 1996 in the 250cc Production Class.
435
I think this is a D grade race at a St George meet in 96. Man the RGV was fun. 6ft 2 and 95kegs was a bit much for bike 72.

Hey Trap, Yeah it was at an ARRC round. Yeah the grids were huge back in those days. I never went any good at Aussie Title Rounds. For some reason I always went slower at them than at Club or State rounds. Are you still racing or come back to racing? I started again in 2013 after retiring in 1998.
Nah no racing for me, just got back into track days about 12 months ago after 13 years of no bike. Building a house in Newy so fun tickets are a bit short on this year but will manage a couple of track days.

Thanks Nick. Was good to see you and catch up. Took me a while to feel reasonably normal on the bike. Then after going out on track 6 times on Saturday, I was knackered come Sunday - my bike isn't the easiest thing to hang on to being unfit.
Qualified ok on Sunday alongside Wetty, and if that dude hadn't lost it in front of me on the 2nd lap, I may have been able to play with you two for another lap.

Kinda related to this thread, but ....
Took my R6 to Craig & Marty on Monday (C&M Motorcycles @ Ingleburn) to get Dyno'd + valve clearances checked + compression test + leak down test. Picked her up yesterday.
Results are as follows:
Bike was pumping out 113 hp since I owned it
After checking everything else, all was good, no issues whatsoever, no adjustments needed.
After a few runs on the dyno, Craig got it to 118 hp.
Do i sense a widdle jealousy from other R6 owners? lol

So i had an awesome 2 days at Phillip Island last Thursday and Friday. Got a new PB and was super stoked...its slow compared to what you guys are doing but i'm happy to make improvements. I wish i could of gone into the 44's like my optimal lap would be but i'm still too inconsistent.
On the friday i could not repeat those times and was almost 2 secs slower. Don't know if it was a more mental thing or the tyres were cooked?

Managed quite a few 44's myself and got a new PB of a 44.3. Wasn't what I was quite hoping for but I was still pretty happy! I know where to make the time up. Had a hip issue so couldn't last a whole session but got down to consistent 46's when I could get some clear track (pretty rare even on a slowpoke 600 :P ). Not quite the PB but know where the time is to be made. Was working a fair bit on body position and made a decent improvement by the end of the 3 days.

Not an instructor or even a fast rider but what really helped me with that was being told to put my right side of the chest on the left side of the tank and vice versa...
It works but it's severely dependent on how comfortable I am on a given corner or not...
Yeah, ^This!!
'Armpit on the fuel cap' is what did it for me...

Here's a nice one from the other week. I was looking at the photo's from ol' T9 and I don't think one them had me in the same place on any lap. All over the shop.
