EDR Performance is pleased to announce we are carrying the entire line of Hi Flo Racing oil filters in stock and on all our race engines.
For the last 15 years we have used the K&N Brand of oil filters with great success. However, mid 2013 K&N dropped Hi Flo as its manufacture of these great oil filters, instead going to a much lesser quality paper and gluing the internal bypass instead of the much preferred rivet method, as well as changing the sealing o-ring to a much lesser quality piece, all in an effort to save money! We started to see issues and immediately stopped selling/using!
EDR prides itself on selling and using only the top quality items and we take anything put on our championship winning engines very serious. In our opinion these new cheaper made oil filters were not up to our standards and we have shipped all them back to manufacture. EDR cannot risk having their reputation of providing the most reliably built motorcycles in the country due to another company cutting corners in an effort to increase profits. The oil filter is far too critical of a component whether you race at record pace or commute back and forth to work, quality is everything!
Hi Flo now has the freedom to make a "racing oil filter" using their proven designed they improved on it by updating the filter material to work better with today's synthetic oils and also adding the drilled 17 mm hex to top for ease of install/removal as well as safety wiring for added security. Hi Flo also prides itself on being TUV approved (this is an extremely high standard of manufacturing!)
Best of all, these filters are LESS money to you guys! So EDR gets to continue working with a fantastic product in Hi Flo as well as providing a better product at a lower cost to our customers!
Here is a great article about Hi Flo oil filters before they updated even to the hex nut and filter material. Swing by EDR when you need your next oil filter and be sure if your using K&N to really look at them (the new ones you can see have glue globbed all over inside as well as very poorly cut sealing o-ring on top)
