Hello All,

I want to by-pass (remove) the ignition on a s1000rr track bike and replace it with a switch. I am trying to find a 3 pin connector so I dont have to hack the one off the OEM wiring harness.

Anyone know what type of connector it is (3 pin) and where I can find one?

If I cannot find one I will just cut the plug off the wiring harness and connect a switch directly.

cheers

john

Have you dealt with the immobiliser? I assume they are the same as Jap bikes, and have an immobiliser in the ECU. Rick?

He's already on to that Nick. They have a transponder in the key and receiver in the barrel. In the ($500) kit system, you still just use the spare service key and antenna. Which Johnny has done. He wants to get a connector to plug into the factory harness for switching, so he doesn't have to butcher the harness. If he gets it sorted, I would mind getting rid of mine as well.

Hey Rick,

Couldn't find the connector. I think its a BMW connector.

Anyway, cut the plug off, hooked up a rocker switch and she is all go.

Biggest issue is trying to find a place to hide the antenna loop/key. I think it will fit around the ecu or under the tank (have not looked under there yet).

$16...job done.
