Fairly sure I've got footage of a few of your laps in the second open 600's race Carl. I'll post it up tonight. You've got a multi coloured front wheel right?

Carl-52

hahaha yeh, usually 2 multicoloured wheels but needed a quick tyre change. Will be cool to see a few laps... from in front looking back? or looking forward? my gopro mount failed, have a great video where it looks like im pulling a wheelie in 5th and 6th gear (camera mounted peeled back)

Tops Kanga!!

But you're quoting it all wrong. A single lap of 2:10 automatically gets written down as "I'm doing 2:10s". Don't qualify a great result with any explanations ;)

If you're on a PC, use Windows Movie Maker (it's installed with Windows) to edit it, and/or just upload it direct to YouTube. Register a free youtube account and upload. It'll take a while, but it's not too hard.

And that's such an impressive lap time!!! Very well done, mate. You dominated BEARS, including conclusively beating the very fast Michael McMillan. Top stuff!

If anybody uses an AIM Solo or DL lap timers, my bro wrote a web app for converting laps to google earth files. (stevem, Leezx10r, Phat3r...anybody else?)
If you export a single lap to .csv with gps position from Race Studio:

File > Data Export In Excel
Then select the lap you want and check "GPS_Latitude" "GPS_Longitude"

Then upload to http://caffetine.org/csv2kml/ (http://caffetine.org/csv2kml/)
You can call it what you like and pick colour/line width and it'll export to .kml for import to Google Earth.

Pretty useful if you're trying a new line or keen to see when you're turning it etc.

Check out Natsoft for race results and lap times from the weekend (and earlier rounds): http://natsoft.com.au/

It's a great resource to browse through your chosen class and get an idea of where you might sit in the grand scheme of things if you started racing. Mostly, people are surprised that the spread of speeds/lap times is so large.... racing isn't all A-graders doing insane laps, but quite a range of speeds, experience and abilities.

Young Kitson got a PB yesterday too, chasing us around. He dropped 1.5 secs and came very very close to a 39. It's always great for improving your times to be chasing guys who are a little bit faster than you. Being the fastest guy in, say, Yellow or Green, isn't gonna help you to improve at all. Mind you, there's a point of diminishing return.... I don't get anything much from Glenn Allerton, because he's just too much faster than me!

Yes! Wagner going round the outside at 3 dragging an elbow was cool an all, but didn't help my times much. I think this is why each time I race (rarely) I get faster because there is always someone a litlle quicker to chase.

143.090. Garmin though so trying to talk myself into buying a Speedangle.

Chasing 1:39's. Need next track day as I realised after watching back my footage that I screwed up and was shifting too early into 3, running a gear too low through 4-5, and gear too low through 9-11. Too much engine braking, and rear spinning up on exit being that high in the revs which was robbing me of lot of corner speed. What a dummy.

Wow, nice one mate. I thought that time difference would be a bees dick; but actually, doing the maths (if I'm right), 0.031 seconds at 240kph rough (guessing based on straight distance to line) is 2.06 meters. Smashed him by over a bike length!

Sad part is he won the race ... I peaked lap 5 of 8 and he was strong at the end ... was careful to line up the overtake on the line but was too smooth (read slow) through the last turn and the late on gear change (rev limiter) bugger but fun

All in all was a good round for me
1st ever lap record
1st Place at round (by 1pt)
1st Place at 3 of 6 round championship ... by 1pt
