Announcing a new monthly event!

With Sydney Dragway Race 4 Real events continuing to grow the venue is proud to launch a new concept in off-street racing- BIKE NIGHT @ Sydney Dragway.
While maintaining the same message - KEEPING IT SAFE, LEGAL AND OFF THE STREETS - these monthly events are specifically designed for motorcycle enthusiasts. Furthermore they continue to provide a community service the main focus of which is to provide young people a safe, controlled and legal environment to race their vehicles.

At the end of each run competitors receive a time card offering the required information to prepare and better their next run. Having collected their time slip they are able to rejoin the staging lanes and prepare for another run!
Held on the second Thursday of every month BIKE NIGHT will accord bike riders the same level of safety, professionalism and fun they have previously experienced at a Wednesday Race 4 Real event.
Sydney Dragway is confident BIKE NIGHT will be as popular as the Wednesday night events which reach maximum competitor numbers almost every week.

Would I be beter off putting road tyres on the Gixxer or leaving on the slicks?

don't like the idea of a burnout on the Ntecs, they are sensitive enough to tearing as it is

I'm in. I was planning on using old slicks but never done it before so might have to do some research.

I did it on Ntecs, cold and on a cold night. No problems with traction whatsoever. The track is grippy as... the biggest problem is keeping the wheel down.

Top fun. Did it on my old cbr a few times. Never worried about burnouts . Rode around the water. As mentioned heaps of grip. Why put your clutch, chain and gbox thru unnecessary trauma. Just lower the back tyre pressure. I did 10.98 on a stock 96 cbr 900.

biggest mistake I've noticed at starts is not carrying enough revs, I am fairly good at starts (toilet everywhere else).
on the gixxer I hold the revs between 10-11K any lower and you are too deep into the torque curve and the front wheel pops

I've never tried to do a full blown race start before so this can only help!

On the normal days scrutineering shuts at 7 as far as I know. My bike is still pulled apart still since I've been working back every night this week :(

I definitely didn't when I went... I left work at 6 in Bondi Jct and got a LOT of traffic on my way there. No way I got there before 7...
