The video is great too. Came out really well. Thanks Owen. Im no cinematography guy... maybe I need Marshy to come over and set up a few go pros and edit a cool kids vid for me. Slo mo and the like. Would be excellent marketing material.
As for the encoder, it was an interesting challenge given the size of the slots, the material and the thickness of each surface to remain sufficiently rigid...
Pretty happy with how it turned out.

Hahaha, maybe some epic dance music cranking along in the background?!
Yea, I can imagine it would be tricky. I've known a couple of people have electronics issues with the sensor ring being slightly out.
Did you have an oem one to work from?

Yes and no Owen. This is a hybrid of an OEM unit that is a smaller diameter and a wsbk one that is this diameter but only 6 or 8 slots. Didn't have a wsbk one to measure off ( tried to get hold of one but it was gone) so developed this one with a lot of measuring on Kris's part and then working out offsets based on new sensor location. Sensor is original but located in wsbk location. 48 slots for this unit.
Diameter for slots was measured from sensor location so should provide required outcome..

Mount it up tomorrow, put the Palmare on the bike and spin the rear wheel manually to determine if she works :) The palmare will show the wheel speed
Mick's done an amazing job!

Just over a month later...
We had some issues with the sensor reading the encoder and have been trying to resolve the issue. Turns out the CLF ECU was cactus... Encoder and sensor humming along nicely. Kris is a patient guy..... following up with Sensor manufacturers and other colleagues for information

Great to see this up and running. Looking forward to sorting out the front one :)
Thanks Mick :) Ordered a CLF last night. Now to find a money tree to afford the Front WSBK Brake rotors

Hard to justify the cost when currently my renovations means I have no kitchen. May be a few months off :P
