Well the shoulder/wrist/thumb is well enough to work on bikes so it was time to start to resurrect the BMW after the crash.

First job was to see if it starts.

There was a complication because the cluster/dash was smashed and the BMW dash is coded to the ecu!!! Makes it hard/expensive to replace or use a replacement for testing.

Anyway, after checking the dash it appeared the circuit board wasn't too damaged so I temporarily "fixed" connectors, wiring, switches etc, plugged everything in, hot wired the ignition and she fired right up!

Now it's time to make her pretty again.

Have a couple of things to do but isn't as bad as I thought:

Clipons
Tank
Wiring
Cluster rebuild
Fairings
Sub frame
Rear wheel
Shoulder
Wrist
thumb

It's just never as bad as it looks, ever. I cartwheeled a bike in T1, and the pickup guys suggested leaving it at the track to go out in the rubbish.

It needed fairings, a front fairing stay, clipons and footpegs. Like, $500 worth. Fairing damage looks shit, but doesn't mean anything. Likewise a subframe snapped off: looks terrible but it's 4 bolts to replace.
