Anyone thinking about heading along for this? 5 x 6 lap races for 380 is alright. Can x enter in normal stg classes it looks like for more bang for buck.

Cost is actually not too bad. Not the $900 odd that someone was speculating. Is this event usually full of the national series guys or what?

Ruckos87

Yep I'll think enter. The supp regs have it as sat/sun
But WP have a ride day Thursday and the event over 3 days.
Is there a practice day on the Friday?

I'm actually pretty keen on this! I was going to wait and see on how many were entered, I figured a bigger field would be more battles. I'd love to race on a grid as big as the 600s! It's $100 cheaper than the St George meetings too. I'm just glad Wagner group services is picking up the fees for me this time.

Wait, Luke, I don't recall the result of that, I'm assuming it's all taken care of.

Does anyone know of a boarding kennel for kids? I'd like to go to this, but I'd need to drop my son off somewhere first. Either that or in the forest on the way down.... he's probably not big enough to find his way out ;)

Ah bugger Mark, I was wondering why you weren't racing. What's wrong with your bike?

Every race weekend this year has conflicted with other plans and my slipper clutch has needed attention and after engineer/machinist recommendations a replacement has been ordered, delivered and returned(wrong one showed up) and I'm waiting on the slow boat from Italy for it's replacement. :-(

I've really missed the FXRRC series, on the plus side I have a healthy bank balance from not racing, and I'm getting really good on the dirt bike lol

I appear to have negotiated a small miracle, and might be in for this. Of course I'm at PI the weekend before and potentially FX the weekend after, so it'll be a lot of racing and my bank balance will be firmly in negative territory!!

As I might have mentioned, I'm no fan of Wakefield, particularly in the non-summer months, but they appear to have finally fixed all the complaints I've had about the state titles for the past 17 years, so it seems incumbent on me to take part. The opportunity to win a state title on a Clubsport bike really appeals!!

You wouldn't be the first to unsuccessfully protest my CS eligibility. I never cheat, but I have spent a lot of money to be within the rules, buying bikes for too much money just to get the right compliance plate date.

Yeah, this (from memory, but it's always been 'more than 5 years'). 12/10 would be the latest eligible plate right now.

I usually cross enter for the extra warmup/quali sessions, even if I then pull out of one class later in the day. $100 for cross entering is the cheapest track time known to man.

Marshy
03-09-2016, 08:02 PM
It's a shit track, freezing cold, pissing down rain, and the weekend between a bears national round and FX at the Creek. As a result there aren't enough entries to grant any of the 1000cc classes Championship status.

So I withdrew a week ago, when the detail about non-Championship status was released. Jan is still considering whether to give me a refund or not.

i crashed twice. Otherwise if i finished the race it was no worse than 2nd place. Just the good bike wont run now soooooooooo have to sort that out. Track was shite, racing was interesting, just the weather caused it to be bad, runoff and drainage issues.

excuse the long winded post in advance... But I had an absolute ball over the weekend

after trying to race unsuccessfully over the past year due to various reasons from dropped valves, to medical issues, I finally got the chance at the state titles. I knew there wouldn't be a massive turn out in the 1000s, so I wasn't to bothered about my 1st race being state titles. As it turned out there were only enough entrants to run Unlimited clubsport / BEARS (8 entrants) and Unlimited (7 entrants) I wasn't keen on unlimited as I thought the pace would have been well above my PB, so decided that id do practice and qualify, and see how it felt.

Sat morning and it was pissing down,'I was 2nd on line, but garages didn't get opened till late so I was feeling mega rushed, had to get wets on and get myself sorted out. I headed out for practice for, 2nd time ever on wets, 1st time in actual rain. Surprising I felt pretty comfortable on the bike, all be it quite slow. Qualifying for Unlimited was 1st up, managed to put in 3 decent laps before losing the rear and sliding off into T6, damage was minimal. To my surprise I qualified 2nd for Unlimited (out of only 5 on track) but as the only D grader was stocked, I just needed to get the bike sorted so i didn't miss my one and only chance to grid up on the front row:cool:. Carl was good enough to pop in and give us a hand so I got the bike fixed in time to race but missed qualifying for clubsoprt.
Had an absolute ball racing, I seemed to go ok in the wet Saturday, not finishing last, it was a real shame thee wasn't a bigger field, race 1 Unlimited i ran off and had to chase down 3rd which was awesome. all in all my time went to bad, considering the other 2, or 3 were B or C graders.

had a nice meal with the 600 crew sat night, and slept like a baby...

Sunday was clearing sky's, but on track there was still rivers, 1st two practices on wets, but it was drying fast. decided to got to slicks for racing, which meant I needed to stand the bike up and just potter through the wet spots, so scary coming out of 2 and 7, I recon I lost the rear 4 or 5 times, but managed to stay upright, club sport only had 3 of us racing, unlimited 4, then 3 then two... i couldn't catch the leader in the conditions, and seemed to be able to get away from 3rd, so there wasn't to much Racing as such so i bailed early to see the kids for fathers day. Still got to get out and give it a go!!!

Cant wait till November, hopefully I'll be in a position to mix it up with a few more riders
