Garages 19-20 allocated (well, technically just 20 until we get another name to add to the list.... apparently 7 people isn't enough to justify a double garage!).

Not quite.... I'm still intending to have her ready tho! All except fairings that is. Road fairings will have to do.

At this stage I appear to be taking a new record of three bikes to ride!!

Sorry for the letdown. It's just another Aprilia. A little bit special, but also just more of the same. It meets a bunch of my personal requirements though. I'll spill all tomorrow ;)

As an aside, I reckon this one'll be fine with a new frame, front wheel and a few other bits.

TOP, TOP, TOP day at the track yesterday!! Great vibe in the pits and plenty of new gear to drool over!!
My old R6's new owner made it out too and he managed to squeeze out a PB on his first day on it. Well done Joel!!
It's a magic bike for PB's that one!!

I had a total BLAST on Red Baron. Had heaps of fun trying out the new electronics and the absolute, phenomenal cosmic power!!http://66.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lrnc8z6AN81qck87qo1_r1_400.gif

There were a couple of teething issues as it was a brand new build. Mostly with rearsets and lever position. It's a bit of a fiddle to adjust the lever height and lengths to get GP shift to work, with the series of rose joints and knuckles in line! It meant a fair few false neutrals and one lap entirely in first gear but I managed to get there in the end.
The front end feels a little soft too and it was bottoming out so I picked up some new springs at the end of the day, for next time. The shock was working wonders tho and gave some GREAT feel and drive with the proof in the amazing, smooth tyre wear!!
Thanks heaps to Stevem and Wolfie57 for the BMW setup help and tips. I've already clicked with it much quicker than I did the R6!!
When are we out again next??!

Yeah, they're a wee bit taller than the R6's were! Bit of race tape and it's all good tho.

A few fast boys yesterday. Here I am, minding my own business, when a train of Mikey, Glenn, Craig McM, Mat, and Warwick Nowland come sliding through. Of course, I was going to go with them, but decided to check out Laura's rear end instead. At least, that's my excuse ;)

Marshy
01-07-2016, 07:34 AM
I realised of course that Warwick was just tootling along with Laura, not part of the freight train, but I wanted to name drop some more, as if knowing these champions somehow makes me a faster rider ;)

Ruckos87
01-07-2016, 09:05 AM
Was that the 2nd last session? They passed me at speed [emoji15] does that I can name drop too?

I'm having a look at my footage now. Felt comfortable in the bike great actually, no PBs far from it. Still got issues passing slower riders, I think it because I don't want to be "that guy" passing close, I should just properly stick it up there and go for it I suppose , but maybe it's something simple I'm doing wrong?
When I had Alex Cudlin he thought my vision was the key. ( needing to widen it) which I'm trying. Hopefully racing will help too.

I'll chuck up a vid when time allows, see if anyone can pick something to work on.

Such a great day on Wed, had a ball!!!

Are you looking directly at the rider infront? One of the big vision things for me was looking at things with my peripherals.
So, I'm actually looking at my turn/apex/exit point but the rider infront is with the peripheral, so I'm aware of their actions, but they don't affect mine...

Deff a top day!! Great vibe in the pits :thumb:

I think that's the issue, I feel like I'm following close so as to close the passing distance, then fixating on the rider in front. By the time I'm ready to pass the slot has closed.... Hmmm

Yeah, right. I reckon try the peripheral vision thing. That should free up some time and a whole HEAP of space to pass.
Should keep you safer if they decide to make a trip to the kitty litter too :thumb:

Part of the tree thing to is so you don't put them up on a pedestal, so your not thinking that is so and so ,should I pass him? Take the emotion out of it and if your good for the pass do it.

Hmm, when I read trees, I thought of it like a tree run snowboarding. I always used to be shit and slow until my mate said, don't look for the trees, look for the gaps.

As Bruce Lee says, be like the water, FLOW.

Same as when training kids for Ps to do the MOST cone weave ... "don't look at the cones look at the gaps" - easy to forget of course ...
