I received at email from MA about this today indicating it wa being held on 26-28 March 2016 to which I have replied as follows

Hi, the email I received states WSBK and ASBK round at Phillip Island is 26-28 March. I am riding down with some mates for 26-28 February. Hope we are not a month early, or we will have to spend much time in the pub. Cheers, Martin

I've just done 5 days at the Creek in a week, so I'm a bit tuckered out. Also I'm not sure I could've physically got from EC to PI between yesterday night and this morning's test start.

I was veeeeery tempted to go to this, but it would've meant missing St George, so I made the tough call and stayed local. I'll be down there in two weeks anyway for ASBK ;)

I can't quite believe it, but I seem to be basically ready to go! This is unheard of for me.... usually both bikes are in bits until after midnight the night before! But with the above-and-beyond assistance from the SSR pit crew (ie Baddie), the girls are ready to rock!

This year’s coverage of the ASBK will see every round televised free-to-air and on pay TV, plus the introduction of NRGTV’s video production service, lastly incorporating a fresh newly developed media team, which is set to take ASBK to new levels in 2016.
The Australian Superbike Championship is pleased to confirm ASBK free to air coverage on 7mate, and welcome back Fox Sports for a second year running, which will see expert commentator and former World Endurance Champion Steve Martin back calling all of the ASBK action for 2016.

There was a 15A outlet for each competitor. We needed generators on the grid (this year the media grid was 10 mins each, up from 5 mins). At the 3 min mark they used to shoo you off the track, by the time you got warmers on, it was exactly time to take them off! Daft. This year it was at the 2 min mark, so warmers for 5 or 6 mins (after getting them fitted) was quite useful. A couple of ppl just sat there. In the heat of Qld last year, I did the same thing. If it's hot, even 10 mins is fine. You get another warmup lap after.

You don't have to sit on the grid - you can go out and come in again after the sighting lap, or even not go out at all. Then start from pit lane on the warmup lap (after the 10 mins) and take your normal grid spot. But sitting there on the grid with a big crowd and all the action feels sooooooo MotoGP!! :cheer: :first:

right hand side of the tyre must have cooled down a lot? Honda corner wouldn't have put much heat through it especially at outlap pace, and the hayshed was the first right hander where that grip was needed??

You could be right! I just listened again, and I definitely shut off again, then it goes. So it really was the dude in front's fault ;) He was a pain in the ass all weekend - all over the track, slow mid-corner, then fast out, and repeat.

Not at Siberia, but over Lukey and into MG I was watching the race unfold on the big screen there. I kept having to remind myself that I was racing too!!
