Faaark. ARDC aren't starting to listen to their customers too, are they? Perhaps they are also reluctantly being dragged into the 21st century, along with a few other dinosaurs. Where will it all end?
Now if we could just get St George to see the light and not schedule any race meets for Goulburn (ever) and Broadford (in the dead of winter), we would be laughing!

Goddamn it! If it was gp from the get go I'd have booked. Alas, I cannot attend now :(

Agreed 100% ... boycott wakey

I don't have a problem with Wakefield. Ride to the conditions, simple. Plenty of people that manage to not crash there.
For the price I don't know why anyone would complain. Why would you boycott a track that holds one of the better put together race series?

I like wakey, its tricky, technical and good fun. You HAVE to be consistent, which helps me improve that skill and which i now do pretty well. Smoother run off areas and some water retention are definitely needed though.

I enjoy wakefield. Have not ridden the creek but dont care much for Winton. Sounds like some folks had a rough time at wakey recently but to be fair most circuits are going to be a bit dicey in the middle of winter when track temps start below 0. If you dont like it fine dont ride it but a boycott may not work out well for anyone. Far from forcing the owners to make upgrades it may just mean we end with one less track to race on.
Don't get me wrong feel for all those who had big offs and hope recovery of both rider and bikes goes well would just hate to see one less track for bikes to race on.

^^^^THIS!
I've only ridden Wakey once, I did enjoy but it was in the dead of winter and certainly felt pretty sketchy in the cold, with a cracked, watery surface and not much in the way of run-off.
The race meet was very well run tho and I would certainly like to see the track being upgraded. Presumably they know it's not in great shape.. is an upgrade on the cards? Can we get together and push for it?

In regards to Sunday sure. In terms of Saturday can't disagree more. Clark of Course was informed about the recent issues with water seeping up through the track on T4 prior to his rider briefing and didn't say anything, despite also being told "it's not there in the mornings only comes up around 10:30". Complete and total failure of their responsibility to run a safe event imo. Baning of spectators on pitwall during the sprints was also a complete disagrace. Hoping that STG will in future put any bullshit rules in their sup regs prior to the event as I know a few people who had come up to spectate for the day who went home upon hearing this and just wasted their time.

reading over the last few ppls comments here, yea I reckon a boycott was a bit over the top in my opinion, but ... I can't agree more, with the lack of professionalism in NOT announcing there is water seeping thru onto the track, or did I just not hear that part ??
Either way, we all know the track is in dire need of upgrade, especially the run off area's.
I for one, will not be attempting anymore overtaking manouvre's at T4 :p
btw, my comments are not directed at St George at all either, just the operators/owners of Wakey.
Cheers

The track day prior to the event they put a green chalk marking around the area that was seeping which gave you a reminder every lap. I lost the rear on that area at the FXRRC round a few weeks before as well so it was nothing new.

Back on topic......
FAAAARK WHAT A TOP DAY TODAY AT THE CREEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome fun, great company, the best weather ever at a racetrack, NO stoppages for oil (and only a couple of minutes to retrieve a couple of cars), so much so that we all got an extra session on top of the super-long full 20min sessions during the day. Heaven on fucken earth at the Creek today. :thumb:

+ 1 million for me too!! What an awesome day. :thumb:
Was a really great vibe out there with fantastic people, amazing weather and to top it all of I got within half a second of my PRE-INJURY PB!!
Also managed to stay out for all of the super long sessions so I'm feeling great about being fit enough for Pirelli at PI in a couple of weeks. HAPPY DAYS!! :cool  :peace:
