Just booked myself in for the 10th August... from my hospital bed! :thumb: I got an infection in my ankle incision wounds, and needed IV antibiotics. Thankfully I'm heading home sometime soon, after a 5 day stay. And I'm gonna be riding in August, come what may. Someone just lift me onto the bike and I'll be fine.
I took advantage of using up the last of my MEGA Money. I rang them expecting to have $100 worth, and they check their system and discover I'm entitled to nearly $300 worth. So a free track day and a voucher for the remainder that I can spend at the MEGA workshop. If anyone else has money they haven't used, ring them now and book a spot.
Who's in?
I just renewed my ARDC so I might have a half pricer in the bag? If so I'll come out I reckon.

I certainly could do. I wasn't going to, but it could find it's way into the trailer if you're still keen to have a look.

How is the leg? I don't recall seeing a hyperbaric chamber in your shed, but I didn't look very closely. Nice recovery!

Are you taking the German?
Two of them. A 2013 and a 2015. They are nearly ready. The 2013 just needs rearsets put on (my SS rearsets should be able to do GP shift without any modifications, but I haven't fully fitted them up yet to verify). Otherwise it's ready...ish. It is currently looking very Frankenbike with a 2015 nose on it, which looks really really really shit, so I'm gonna fit up the black nose today.

The first 2015 is nearly ready too:

It's called ignoring doctor's orders and riding anyway ;) Rather than 'orders' I like to think of them as recommendations or suggestions.
Not totally wise, but I'm going INSANE without riding, so I'm considering my mental health as well as my ankle. Besides, it's been 2 months, so it should be reasonably ok, so long as I don't crash on it. :thumb:

Had a pretty fun day today, met a few faces. I felt like I was running around our garage all day, a mate was also using my CBR, Id just get the warmers on, have a bit of a chat and it was time to get them off again.
1st two sessions for me were terrible, I couldn't find any rhythm. By mid way through the day I was going better with the monkey off my back, hadn't ridden in 6 mths.
Defiantly need to get the Ape out next time, could have really use the extra power.

Sorry to hear Nigel, there were a LOT of crashes in turn three, almost added to it myself, had a big front end tuck on my ape roadbike, street tyres aren't quite the same as slicks...
nigelnobody
12-08-2015, 06:10 PM
Speaking of slicks "flipped" a 15 lap old rear prior to that session re-thinking that approach now.
Highsides very hard to save with rear pedal on right handers especially turns 3/9.

Had an awesome day today. First time on the new bike and pretty much matched my best time round the GP circuit. Love the Fireblade.
Was thrilling seeing Wagner punt round there too. FAROUT!

What a day yesterday was!
The r6 was hugely different to the ol' sv650. I didn't manage to.get comfortable on it all day, riding position was out of this world for me, and the bike waaay taller than I'm used to. I still had a ball on it, and managed to go faster than I ever have round the go track.
It definitely was awesome to see Wagner out there. He was elbow down every time he passed me. Was awesome to see.

Took me a while to get used to the riding position from a Gixxer too. The thing that really clicked for me was after sorting rearset positioning.
I'm also going to convert my oem seat for more butt grip after some great advice and pics from the Kitsons. :thumb:
