The Lc4 now doesn't have spark (hooray)
What is the best way of tracking down what's wrong, don't think it's the spark plug as I just changed it
I have a multimeter but no idea how to use it to identify the problem.

check all the things you changed recently! should be able to check battery voltage with the multimeter, track down a manual and it will tell you electrical troubleshooting and where to do it.
thats all ive got mate. Dunno ktm

Remind me when I'm mobile again, and I come and have a look.

Find the last/first thing that works in the circuit and trace it back from there.
With any electrical problem it's basically start from the beginning - "Ok, I have voltage here... is it getting here tho..?"
and so on, eliminating things until you find where it stops.

Thanks guys, I will try and troubleshoot it.
Lights and fan work so I will try for some garage time tonight.
Gracias

Stuck...

on closer inspection the wiring is a bit of a birds nest, someone has bodged the headlight up at some point in the past.

the headlight is now not working but the flash button does? I hate electrics.

rebuilding the gearbox on my aprilia was easier than this

do you have a wiring diagram Andrew?

ignition circuit is separate from the rest of the electrical system so should be easier to isolate.

It's definitely lead or CDI related, I'm getting less than a volt a the lead https://vimeo.com/130063017https://vimeo.com/130063036
I've eliminated the kill switch as the problem but that's about it

These bikes are notorious for having CDI issues

awesome, so far it has sat in my mum's garage with my motivation to fix it at an all time low...

I've ordered a new one and might be bothered trying to fit next weekend
