Yeah, but not often and they were all more than 2 years ago. I only remember two actually. And they were both when they fell on a Friday of two big race weekends somewhere else, both on the same weekend (St George at Broadford and FX at Wakey etc).

But that said, they threaten it enough, and I've never actually called their bluff and just turned up on the day with 10+ bikes WITHOUT pre-registrations! I get the distinct impression that they would happily point at the photocopied schedule sheet for the day that didn't contain a bike session and use that as justification for not allowing us out. "Computer says no" kinda stuff.

On the other hand, they happily allocate sessions to ONE open car that happens to turn up on the day.

Good day at WP. Usual slippery conditions to start and the rain last few weeks didn't help. Nice mini river through T10 meant a modified wide line all day. Good to see you Mick and Ed out there today.

Hey, I always knew it was good I just couldn't imagine it was that good. Having only ever been on track with my 03 with stock suspension I had no idea how good a bike could handle. After one session I was less than a second off my Suzuki times from the previous session with the bike set up for your ergonomics and nothing where I'd have had it. You've got a wonderful bit of kit there.

Back in the real world though, second session out I did 6 laps in a row within 1-1.5 seconds of my quickest ever lap time. Considering that was set in qualifying at Stg the weekend I had my crash I think it was probably some of my fastest ever track day lap times. Got plenty to work on so hopefully start nudging 43s on the old girl within a couple of months. New tyres and I probably would.

It's nice to be getting my groove back! Great day, great vibe, great crew. What more can you ask for!

I dunno, mate. We (some of us ;)) go through hell each Wednesday before a PP to make sure we have the numbers. I think they would happily turn us away if we rocked up without having pre-booked.

That said, I'm dead stoked they've finally imposed the same conditions on the open cars!! It's been pissing me off for a few years now, having been at lots and lots of days with only 1 or 2 or 3 open cars.

Frankly I'm ok with having to register (you've got to book trackdays weeks or months in advance, so less than 48 hours is fine for me) but it always pissed me off that it was one rule for bikes and a different rule for cars.

The next step will be to turn away bikes that haven't pre-registered..... now THAT'S never gonna happen!! ;) :D

The Ape was nicely balanced, I really enjoyed it.

the engine braking into corners was awesome, even though I wasn't pushing I was carrying a lot of lean and could get on the gas really early, especially turn 12.
